"The Newspeak"
New-speak is a synthetic language in force in the fictitious totalitarian state of Oceania, depicted in the novel 1984 by Georg Orwell. The concept of new-speaking has over time gone beyond the framework of the novel and is used as a tool for expression or quasi-language. Nowomowa deforms the rules of language, adapting it to the needs of the message. In the presented set of photos, I am referring to the term 'new-speech', because photography is also a form of expression. The presented works are an attempt to adapt selected features of the photographic medium to tell about the subjective impression of contemporary urban reality, giving up narrative in favor of formal values.

"Ship Of Fools": is a cultural motif that appears in many literary, painting and musical works over the centuries. It is a ship full of crew representing various classes and social conditions, various ethical attitudes and personal patterns, traveling in search of happiness.

The work confronts the classic motif with contemporary pop culture, dominated by the Internet.
Social media have redefined the functioning of society and created new cultural archetypes.

We live in a time when young people function under enormous pressure, imposed by modern society and themselves. Mental and emotional problems have become "civilization diseases". Photographs are an attempt to visualize the symptoms that the author experienced during the neurosis attacks.

"We all tried on our parent’s chlothes, as children, wanting to be an adult. Despite approaching 30, I still don’t feel grown up to fullfill suit of expected social norms and obligations. Mostly, I only try on reality, that is not tailored to measure.
I think it’s not uncommon for my generation, is it ?"
